Bidding Farewell to our Exchange Students

We just witnessed an emotional farewell. Our exchange students – Tim, Mark and Chris – will be returning to Austria in December 2011 after what they called ‘an experience of a lifetime’. They spoke highly of the department as well as the university. They especially praised the lecturing team for going the extra mile in seeing that the students understood what was taught. They said ‘you guys had a hands-on approach to teaching and learning’. They were however not delighted that it took them a while to get into the grove of things because of the cultural differences and promised to return at some point in the future. Tim and Co presented the department with a bouquet of flowers (which so thrilled the head of department) and a bottle of an Austrian brew. The head of department, Mrs Raja-Yusuf thanked them for first being good students and secondly for the opportunity to come say goodbye. She wished them well on behalf of the department and the faculty. The pictures of the very emotional meeting follow:
