Proud moments for the department

Mr Mboniseni Mbatha - SRC Chair

We say congrats to Mr Mbongiseni Mbatha who has just been elected chairperson of SRC at CPUT.. Mbatha, a final year student in Entrepreneurship at the Department of Entrepreneurship, hails from Kwa- Zulu Natal, completed his High School studies at Midrand High in 2006. He approaches his work with enormous focus; he never gives up, and he asks questions until he understands. While some students earn high grades by memorizing rules and facts, this student is a real scholar who strives for a deep understanding of difficult concepts.
Mbatha has been actively involved in leadership and management positions throughout his tertiary studies. In 2010 he was the Projects officer of the CPUT SIFE team that was well represented in the Internationally Recognised competitions in Johannesburg. The following year he was elected the chairperson of SIFE CPUT and the Academics and Transformation in the Branch Executive Committee (BMF - Black management forum) Student Chapter leadership hence leading and seating in such an influential position is not something new to the entrepreneur Mbatha.

Mr Molefe - SRC Rep

Comrade T Molefe who is also studying entrepreneurship occupies the Residence and Transport portfolio. Born in Notting Hill, London; England, however later moved to South Africa and schooled at Christian Brothers College; Pretoria rose through the ranks of Prefect to Captain whilst in high school in different sporting fields such as Soccer, cricket, basketball, squash only to mention a few. Molefe regards himself as an analyst and uses this skill as a way of life and acknowledges that it has contributed to his leadership, and says “Choose words before you speak”. His political energy as a student was reignited at Catsville Residence, were he was elected to become the Chairperson of the biggest student residence in the Western Cape.
Congratulations to the newly elected SRC Representatives.

Mr Paulidor - Head of International Students

International Students have once again showed that they are a force to be reckoned with. In a class full of bright students, our 2012/2013 Association of International Student chairperson Kopgang Paulidor nevertheless stands out, not just for his talent, determination, and sunny personality, but for the good he helps to bring out in the rest of us. This first year entrepreneurship student is creative, hardworking and unfailingly kind, and he shines in the classroom, on and behind the stage, on the athletic field, and sometimes, from inside a Panther suit.
Whatever the task, this delightful young man from Cameroun gives his very best. A writer in French, gained his popularity since high school as well as full time journalist, his last article was on Nelson Mandela titled Mandela: un leader pas comme les autres. We wish all these entrepreneurs all of the best and hope that 2013 will be their best year.
Once again congratulations.
Compiled by Mark Dzoro.
