Awards Ceremony, Internship Feedback & Lovely Photos

On the 19th of October 2011 our department held the first meeting with the senior students. It came at a time when the 3rd year students were coming back from their work posts which they had been deployed at.
The purpose of the meeting was to show appreciation to the 2nd year class who put up excellent work during the University’s OPEN DAY.
One of the nicest things about studying is the opportunity of expressing your theoretical knowledge and background to the actual and real world. In-service learning is a fundamental part of our Entrepreneurship curriculum as it provides the student platform to work in any organisation of choice.
This is however difficult in terms of securing a placement taking into consideration that the university has a department mainly meant for assisting students to get a placement. The third year students gave their word of advice and mainly stressed six important points which were;
      i.        Apply now and never stop until you have secured a placement.
    ii.        First apply to Organisations which resonate with you and were your passion falls at.
   iii.        Do not chase money as for now, it will misguide you; you should learn first.
   iv.        When you get to your work place there is a high probability of you meeting with office politics. Never get yourself involved and try not to please everyone, please yourself first by attaining the work ahead of you and always display entrepreneurial characters at all times.
    v.        Learning is key, always be in a position to learn and showing that what you been just taught you got it right. This will also help you to secure a placement after completion of your B-tech in Entrepreneurship. It also gives the chance to start saving on your seed capital as an entrepreneur.
   vi.        Make use of your network contacts and do not be afraid of approaching Entrepreneurial businesses.
Enjoy the pictures.
