It was already very late at night and these future business developers were hard at work trying to decode some management concepts.
The Faculty of Business and Management Sciences hosted the annual Emerging Researcher Conference on Saturday, 5 November 2022. The theme of this years conference was Driving smart, innovative and responsive research for sustainable economic development. The Department of Entrepreneurship and Business Management under the supervision of Mr Emmanuel Esambe was represented by Nday Yves Wa Numbi registered for the Advanced Diploma in Entrepreneurship as well as Xatyiswa Salukazana registered for the Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship Management. Entrepreneurship academic stars rewarded ACHIEVEMENT: Lecturer Cecily Cridland and Prof Robertson Tengeh, Head of Entrepreneurship and Business Management, congratulate a student for excelling in first-year studies. The Department of Entrepreneurship and Business Management recently hosted an awards ceremony to acknowledge students who excelled in their first-year studies in 2018. The top 10 students in the mainstream programme were: Nzengo Lutumba (76%), Karl Abrahams (73%), Nolitha Gcado (70%), Qhamani Vena (70%), Nosiphiwo Gabuza (69%), Zandile Mbane (69%), Unathi Mpande (69%), Sibabalo Mdingi (68%), Mputhumi Nikelo (68%) and Sulaiman Roberts (68%). In the Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP) the following students came up in the top five: Karabo Namanyane (65%), Lelethu Nobete (64%), Mava Nomnga (64%), Noluvo Mpatha (62%) and Sisipho Tsheke (62%). Is it more profitable to engage in an online business than a 'brick and mortar' type? 'Brick and Mortar' is the derogatory term for 'tangible' businesses such as a doctors practice, a book store, a restaurant, a pub, dance club, etc. An online business is a business that exploits the 'mechanics of the internet to function. Let me get your input on this.
